History of Retford Hub

The Council announced in late 2014 that the Retford Tourist Information Centre was to close following the same fate of all Tourist Informations is Bassetlaw.

The Retford Business Forum, North Notts Tourist Association and Totally Locally decided to support an idea to create a new tourist information centre that was about much more, the people of the area. It would act as a showcase.

What followed was a period of frenitic activity by numerous volunteers as the Retford Hub idea became a reality, and the centre was opened on May 4th 2015, just 12 weeks after the idea had been borne.

Thank you to all those that helped either financially or volunteering and to our current team. The life blood of the centre are our volunteers, the activities are varied, 14 of our volunteers are now trained in food hygiene and we provide other training such as tourism and till operation as required
